Happy New Year.... a little late...
Hello all you faithful friends who keep checking here for updates and then pestering me for not doing it.... tee hee! Well, not sure why, but I haven't been able to post a picture since the last... but alas, I figured I should at least take the time to write something!
Let's see where did I leave off? I believe just after Cooper's birthday... Well, we had wonderful holidays and Cooper did much better staying out of the Christmas tree water bucket this year... but we did have to watch him! At least he didn't try to eat the tree this time! tee hee! We welcomed in the New Year with some of our favoritest friends at a cabin right on Pacific Beach... it was cold, but fantastic ... the dogs especially loved it! The boys spent it at grandma's. The boys finished up their outdoor soccer seasons... both had 9-1 records! We managed to get them on a coed 6-7 year old indoor league and they loved it. Connor has found his "niche" and is so fast... zipping after the ball, stealing it from the other team and scoring a lot! Jonah is also very good when he focuses on the game instead of being a "ham." ;) But that's our Jonah!
Now we've formed a new team for the next league up... all boys and the teams are much tougher. The team consists completely of the boys and 4 of their friends... so it's lots of fun and Jeff is doing a great job coaching. The boys are also doing excellent at school. Connor is reading at 3rd-4th grade level and he loves non-fiction best. Jonah is loving his class and excelling at everything he does... he's a very fast learner.... but we already knew that!
Now for me... I was so inspired watching the boys play indoor that I joined an indoor women's team! I'm having a ball and my goal is to breathe without gasping during games. ;)
Jeff is off of the USS Stennis trouble desk and back in his "real" office (using that term losely since he's only spent about 4 months of the last 3 years in it! lol) and yearning for something more challenging.... well his persistance and prayer has paid off... he just got the official notice today that he will be promoted to Project Engineer of the USS George Washington and getting the port in Japan ready for her. He gets to work mostly from here with some travel to Japan (I'm hoping for a ticket for one of the trips!). He is so excited to finally be a PE and really deserves it.
I guess that is about it for now. I will try again to post some recent pictures up here and also be more vigilant about keeping this up to date. Thanks for your patience!
Char

Did you know that Lilah plays soccer, too? She's really good at it! You should call her and tell her about the team your on!
Thanks for finally posting!
